Laurence & Vincent : an elopement in Mingan Archipelago

A Breathtaking Adventure at the Heart of Mingan Archipelago’s Monoliths

What we love most about our work as photographers is introducing epic locations to our couples and capturing their awe through our lenses. When Laurence and Vincent reached out, they dreamed of an elopement in the Mingan Archipelago. They had seen our photos taken there and had fallen in love with the place. From our first exchange, we knew we would get along perfectly.

We are very familiar with the Mingan Islands; we’ve camped there several times and done numerous photo sessions. It’s one of the most spectacular locations in Quebec, and we were thrilled to introduce it to Laurence & Vincent. We had plenty of advice to share, from how to get there to what to bring, where to camp… We also helped them anticipate any potential surprises: changing weather, tides, on-site conditions, etc.

Why Choose the Mingan Archipelago for an Intimate Wedding?

Unmatched Privacy for an Elopement in the Mingan Archipelago

Among all the options, their choice ultimately fell on Île Nue in the Mingan Archipelago, mainly because it offers the most privacy once the day visitors leave. In fact, there are only two camping spots on the beach, which allowed us to essentially privatize the island from late afternoon until the following morning. It was the perfect setting for such an intimate moment.

Laurence and Vincent loved being alone in the world to exchange their vows, surrounded by monoliths, the sea, and silence. It was exactly what they were looking for: a day without pressure, just the two of them, in a majestic place.

A Spectacular Location for Breathtaking Photos

What we love about an elopement in the Mingan Archipelago is the raw beauty of the landscape. Every corner reveals an impressive natural setting. Unique rock formations, deserted beaches, magical light changing throughout the day… It’s a place that dazzles from morning to night. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, take a deep breath, and savor every moment.

Île Nue is particularly photogenic, with its famous monolith, La Montagnaise, where Laurence and Vincent chose to say their vows. An iconic spot, simply unforgettable.

The Story of Their Wedding Day in the Mingan Archipelago

A Boat Crossing, Fog, and Love

On their wedding day, Laurence and Vincent boarded a boat under intense fog. A nearly mystical atmosphere awaited them when they arrived on the island. After walking about a kilometer with their bags and equipment, they set up camp on the beach, facing the sea.

Hairstyling, makeup, getting dressed… everything was done outdoors, in a relaxed atmosphere, among the rocks and seagulls.

A Meaningful Ceremony, Surrounded by Water

When the time came, they headed towards La Montagnaise to exchange their vows. Alone in the world, surrounded by the elements. It was simple, touching, and true. Then, back at camp, they read messages their loved ones had written for the occasion before sharing a meal over the fire, with the sunset as a backdrop. A perfect day, without frills, but full of beauty.
