Eloping comes from the English word to elope, which originally meant to run away. But don’t worry, it’s not about disappearing quietly! Over time, the meaning has evolved to represent something entirely different: an intimate wedding focused on what really matters – just the two of you, your love, and an authentic experience, far from the distractions and commercialism of traditional weddings.
Here, there’s no endless guest list or grand production. An elopement is a small-scale wedding – sometimes just the two of you, sometimes with a few close ones (under 20 people) – and, most importantly, in a place that makes your hearts race.
And no, it’s not just a way to save money (though let’s be honest, it helps!). It’s first and foremost a heartfelt choice: a day that’s truly yours, with no fuss, no pressure, just real beauty, and a celebration that means something.

We take the time to chat with you, get to know you, understand your vision, your desires, your must-haves… and also your constraints (budget, accessibility, the level of adventure you’re up for). Once we have a clear picture of the vibe you want for your big day, we suggest spots that are a perfect match for you. Fun fact: most of our couples get married in places they had never even heard of before reaching out to us!

Absolutely! Originally from Montreal, we’ve settled in the beautiful city of Quebec, but our playground stretches far beyond that. We’ve photographed intimate weddings and elopements all over the province, and we love to travel, both for work and for pleasure. No matter where you dream of getting married – whether it’s somewhere else in Canada or on the other side of the world – we’re ready to follow you and help with all the logistics that come with it. Absolutely! As long as the wedding is celebrated according to the laws in Quebec, an elopement is perfectly legal. Josée, photographer at Love is Nord and also a wedding officiant, can create a personalized ceremony while handling all the legal paperwork. For more information, click here.
No stress, we get it 100%. Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot! You don’t want to be posed in front of a camera all day, and guess what? Neither do we. We prefer a discreet and natural approach, using a variety of lenses that allow us to capture the atmosphere without constantly intruding on your space. We gently guide you so you can just be yourselves, interacting with each other and the surroundings. And since we’ll have taken the time to get to know each other during the planning, on the big day, it will feel more like a meeting with friends than an awkward moment in front of a photographer.
It might surprise you, but most of the places you see in photos on our website are easily accessible.
When we suggest locations for your wedding, we take several factors into account, including accessibility. If you don’t feel like hiking on your wedding day, we can recommend several epic spots that are very easy to reach.
If you decide to get married in nature, it means you’re ready to embrace rain, snow, wind, and everything else! We’re used to photographing in all seasons and all kinds of weather conditions.
Of course, we’re not crazy. As elopement photographers, flexibility is second nature to us. If the weather turns too bad or could be dangerous, we’ll implement the backup plans we’ve already discussed and prepared with you in advance.
If it’s impossible to reworke the timeline of the day, we offer an additional backup day to make it happen (except for the Getaway Package, which does not include a backup day).
