To elope literally means to run away. You’ve surely heard all kinds of stories from people who got secretly married or tied the knot on a whim in Las Vegas or Gretna Green… Or lovers in romance novels who, without the agreement of their families fled to get hitched – their story unfortunately often ending in an inevitable duel to restore family honor.

This is sooooo not what we are talking about here! Eloping has changed a lot and the definition of modern elopement is now the perfect synonym of an intimate way of getting married, focused only on the couple and what they live together and not on the commercial distractions that offer the “traditional wedding industry”. WHERE CAN WE ELOPE?

Uh … everywhere … anywhere?

We almost always have this in common with our couples: we are frequent travelers and we love discovering breathtaking places and landscapes. This is what gets us the most excited! It is possible to elope anywhere on the planet. Whether in the Parc de la Gaspésie in Quebec, in Isle of Skye in Scotland or on a volcano in Hawaii. Is there a place on your bucket list you’ve always wanted to see? Why not get married there?

The only important thing is that this place has to represent something special for you two as a couple and that you feel completely yourself when there. The wedding experience and the photographic result will then be increased tenfold. IS THIS A REAL WEDDING?

Absolutely! As long as the marriage is celebrated according to the laws in force in the province or the country, an elopement is completely legal.

For example, in Quebec, the marriage must be celebrated before a competent officiant and in the presence of at least two witnesses. We can help you find a celebrant who will accompany you in the administrative process. The celebrant can also be a loved one. And if you ever decide to celebrate your union in the greatest privacy, Patrick and I can also act as witnesses and sign the required documents.
