There are some pretty epic locations in Quebec to elope in winter. Bic National Park is one of them. Located a 3-hour drive from Quebec City, it is nestled on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. Between sea, cliffs, coves and small islands, the spectacular views that this park offers make it the perfect location for a Quebec winter elopement.

When Jenna & Chris contacted us, they shared their love of nature and exploration. They wanted to have a winter elopement in Quebec in an epic location with easy hiking trails and diverse scenery. They also wanted to be able to explore the area for a few days during their honeymoon.

We gave them several suggestions of locations in Quebec, inviting accommodations to stay for a few days and good food plans. All our suggestions met their criteria and they finally chose Bic National Park.

On our recommendation, they booked a small cottage at the Refuge du Vieux Loup de Mer. It is a large property located on the outskirts of the legendary Bic National Park where old houses and cottages have been rebuilt piece by piece. For those of you who love #cabinporn, you’re in for a treat!

On the day of their elopement, we joined Jenna & Chris at the cottage to photograph them getting ready together. They chose to get ready together. We loved capturing their complicity and tenderness. The ceremony took place on the shore of the St. Lawrence River in the freezing cold. We continued for a few minutes to take couple pictures at sunset but in the end we had to forfeit LOL.

Because we anticipated that this would happen, we had planned to meet the next day in the early afternoon for a short easy hike to one of the most breathtaking spots in the park. While taking short breaks to warm up along the way, we reached the magnificent Cap-à-l’Orignal and its most famous profile. 

A snowfall joined in and gave Jenna & Chris the ultimate Quebec winter elopement experience!
