Ah! The Magdalen Islands, this microcosm of beauty from another world. This is where it all began for Josée and me, as a couple, as travelers, and as photographers. It was clear that this destination had been on our bucket list for a long time, to photograph a breathtaking intimate wedding.
We received a lovely request from Camila & Nicolas last spring. They wanted to get married in an intimate way and have their honeymoon in a place that offered breathtaking landscapes. They had considered Côte-Nord and Anticosti, which are obviously excellent choices. But that’s when Josée thought that having an intimate wedding in the Magdalen Islands was a perfect location for them. Since they’re a grounded, enthusiastic, and easy-going couple, they immediately fell in love with the idea. They decided to let us guide them in organizing the logistics of the trip and capturing the precious moments of their elopement in photos.
Stress-Free Logistics
Speaking of logistics, they decided to sign the official papers at the town hall before their departure, but to exchange their vows and wedding rings on the islands. They could have hired an officiant on the islands, but they wanted to share this moment with their parents. Both options are possible—this is the beauty of an intimate wedding, there are no rules to follow.
Our Favorite Spots in the Magdalen Islands
Once there, we took the opportunity to show them our favorite spots. We’ve been to the Magdalen Islands six times, exploring them from top to bottom. Moments of Intimacy and Companionship
During these few days on the islands, we made sure to have our own moments of intimacy. But we were always happy to reconnect and share a picnic or a drink on the beach.
Between them and us, the connection was immediate! It felt like reconnecting with old friends. All this time together allowed us to get to know each other and build a genuine bond. A beautiful friendship was born.
The Day of Their Intimate Wedding in the Magdalen Islands
On the day of their intimate wedding on the Magdalen Islands, we had to opt for Plan B regarding the location where they would exchange their vows, while respecting their only criterion: getting married on the beach.
It was a simple wedding, with no fuss. Just like them. And like us. Just a couple in love, committing to be there for each other in life.
These images speak for themselves, it was just WOW and re-WOW. We feel so much gratitude for the moments we shared with them, and for the most beautiful light we’ve ever seen, that words are completely unnecessary.
